Why this is your network

CM

Made for rural trades

Clearing, dirt work, wells, pumps, septic, rural electrical and plumbing, ponds, timber, barns, shelters. Not kitchens and bathrooms.

RF

Referrals between trades

One raw-land job needs half a dozen trades. Pass the next step to a crew you trust, and get the jobs they can't take.

TL

Tools for rural work

Texts back callers while you're in a field with no signal at the phone. Pumping and well-test reminders. County permit guides.

A say in what we build

We're new. Founding members tell us which tools, trades, and guides come next.

Honest status: we're new and signing up our first members. No member counts or reviews to show yet.

Coming later

Not available yet. We'll add these as membership grows, starting with what founding members ask for most.

Equipment rental and dealer discounts

Some trade associations get members discounts from rental and equipment companies. We'll try to set up deals like that once we have enough members to ask. None exist today.

Private contractor community

A members-only forum to trade advice, swap referrals, and talk shop with other rural crews.

Crew hiring board

Post operator, driver, and helper openings for $29 flat (30 days). The preview page is ready; posting opens at launch.

Subcontract and equipment-sharing board

Find a sub for the part of the job you don't do, or rent idle equipment to another member.

Training and certification listings

Courses and certifications from groups like NOWRA, NAWT, and NGWA, all in one list.

Storm mode

Storm alerts from FEMA disaster declarations by county: after-the-storm steps, scam warning signs, and pros who say they are taking jobs. Information only.

Monthly business webinars

Short sessions on pricing, bidding, hiring, and getting found.

Truck magnet and yard sign designs

Print-ready designs with your member badge. The web badge is ready now.

Why join as a founding member?

Rural Contractor Network is new. We are signing up the first contractors in each trade and area now.

  • Lower price, locked in. Founding Pro is $59/mo instead of $79. Founding Premium is $149/mo instead of $199. Your price stays as long as you stay.
  • First in your area. Early members are listed before the directory fills up.
  • A say in what we build. Founding members tell us which tools and permit guides to add next.

Your own website (Premium)

Many contractors do not have a website, or have one that never gets updated. Premium includes one, built and kept up for you, with your service area, photos, reviews, and a quote form.

We recommend you own your domain name in your name; a .com usually costs about $10 to $20 a year.

Plain fact: many contractor sites leave out basics. Jobber found 43% of home service pros' websites don't list their service areas (Jobber).

Straight answers

People don't search online anymore. My work is word of mouth.

Word of mouth is still the top source for most trades: in Jobber's survey, 59% of home service pros said referrals are their top source of new work (Jobber). But even referred customers look you up before they call. A free profile means they find you, your photos, and your reviews.

AI will find me anyway.

AI tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI answers pull a lot of local business info from directories and listing sites (BrightLocal). Their answers also change a lot from one search to the next (BrightLocal study), so being listed in more good places helps. We will not promise you a spot in any AI answer; nobody honestly can.

I'm already booked out.

Many pros are. In Jobber's survey, 80% said they were fully or nearly booked (Jobber). A steady flow of requests lets you pick the bigger, better jobs and fill the slow season. You can pause anytime.

Angi or HomeAdvisor burned me.

We do not sell shared leads, and there is no contract. Landowners pick 1 to 3 pros, and the request goes only to them. A contractor blog reports Angi leads at about $15 to $125 each, often sold to several pros (Trunetto). Here you pay one flat monthly price, or nothing on the Free plan.

I can't afford another bill.

The Free plan is $0 and always will be. Pro is month-to-month. Missed-call text-back is built to win back jobs you are already losing to voicemail.

I don't want to be locked in.

No contracts. Pro and Premium are month-to-month and you can cancel anytime. Founding prices stay locked as long as you stay a member.

Who handles the money?

Invoices and payment links run through your own Stripe account, so customer payments go straight to you, not through us.

Just send me some info.

Happy to. Use the join form and pick "Send me info first." Or start a free profile and look around.
